Final 2015 Emmy Predictions (Creative Arts)

Where has the time gone? It seems like it was only yesterday that I was yahoo-ing over Tatiana Maslany’s nomination. Haha JK…this whole Emmy journey has been LONG and arduous. I am seriously looking forward to this whole thing ending in 2 weeks…so that we can focus on the Oscar season. Because the Oscar season is always a happy, joyous, fun experience.

I hate/love awards.

Anyway, I’ve put this off long enough. It is time to finally reveal my definitely right, fool proof (whatever that means) predictions for the Creative Arts Emmys taking place this Saturday. Without further ado:

Television Movie: Bessie…obviously (also kinda sad how they are moving this category off the main ceremony. Is this a sign for next year?)

Comedy Guest Actor: Jon Hamm – Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Comedy Guest Actress: Tina Fey – Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (yes, I think Kimmy Schmidt will dominate here)

Drama Guest Actor: Michael J. Fox – The Good Wife (Beau Bridges is a very strong possibility, but I think TGW will win another acting award, and Fox is the show’s best shot.)

Drama Guest Actress: Cicely Tyson – How to Get Away with Murder

Character Voice-Over Performance: Tress MacNeille – The Simpsons (If there’s enough support to nominate her, there’s enough support to give her the win)

Children’s Program: Girl Meets World (Kinda risky, but I think there are a lot of nostalgic 90’s kids voting)

Animated Program: Bob’s Burgers (I’m not convinced voters will watch Over the Garden Wall, unfortunately)

Variety Sketch Series: Saturday Night Live (Amy Schumer has been everywhere, but I think the sentimental favorite will still prevail here)

Variety Special: The Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special

Special Class Program: 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards (50% wishful thinking, 50% voters wanting to honor Fey and Poehler for 3 great, thankless years)

Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program: Billy On The Street With First Lady Michelle Obama, Big Bird And Elena!!! (Because Obama…and Big Bird…)

Music and Lyrics: Sons of Anarchy – “Come Join the Murder”

Music Direction: Stevie Wonder Songs in the Key of Life – An All-Star GRAMMY Salute (I think voters will read “Stevie Wonder” and that will be enough for them…)

Main Title Design: Manhattan (I think voters generally like the quirky little titles, as opposed to the more elaborate ones.)

Main Title Theme Music: Transparent (stands out the most)

Commercial: Always – #LikeAGirl (Everyone was talking about this commercial)

Directing – Variety Special: Don Roy King – The Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special

Writing – Variety Special: Louis CK: Live At The Comedy Store (he usually does well in the writing categories)

Casting – Comedy: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Casting – Drama: Orange is the New Black

Casting – Limited Series, Movie, or Special: Olive Kitteridge

Drama Picture Editing: Mad Men – “Person to Person”

Comedy Picture-Editing: The Last Man on Earth – “Alive in Tuscon”

Picture Editing for Variety Programming: Last Week Tonight With John Oliver – “Edward Snowden segment”
